APS success
Painaustralia CEO Carol Bennett and Director Policy & Engagement Louise Moes were pleased to attend the annual Australian Pain Society Conference in Sydney last week, which this year was held cojointly with the New Zealand Pain Society.
Each year the conference brings together the world’s leaders in pain science to facilitate information sharing with pain clinicians and other researchers, as well as provide opportunities for networking and collaboration.
International speakers included Professor Stephen McMahon (Kings College, London) with expertise in neuro-immune processes, Professor Lisbet Goubert (Ghent University, Netherlands) with expertise in inter-personal relationships in chronic pain and Dr Tonya Palermo (University of Washington) who specialises in paediatric pain.
Plenary lectures were given by outstanding speakers from across Australia and New Zealand, covering topics such as neuromodulation, rehabilitation and psychological approaches to pain management, placebo, pain across the ages and indigenous pain management.
Painaustralia congratulates the APS on a well run and highly informative event.
