Pain in the Media

This month Painaustralia commented on access to pain specialists in a Channel 9 News story, and followed up with a comment on a new test that could potentially help millions of people with chronic pain through early detection and treatment in another Channel 9 News story.

Painaustralia CEO Carol Bennett was also interviewed on Perth radio 6PR about Australia’s post-codeine landscape and provided comment to The Lancet Psychiatry journal about the need for a national, strategic approach to pain management in the wake of more limited access to  opioid medication.

We published two media releases, one about the need for more adequate pain management in palliative care and end-of-life care in conjunction with National Palliative Care Week, and the other in relation to Minister for Health Greg Hunt’s announcement at our Annual General Meeting.

This period there was also a very insightful story on SBS Insight about joint replacements.
