ACI Consumer Day: You’re invited!
For the first time this November, the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation will be holding a forum to bring together people living with pain to discuss how people in the community can be better supported to manage pain and live life to the full.
The ACI Consumer Day “Harnessing the power of people living with pain” will encourage people to share ideas about what they have learned to manage pain and how these strategies can be shared with other consumers, GPs and other health professionals.
ACI Pain Management Network Manager Jenni Johnson, who developed the idea for the consumer day with a colleague, says this is an opportunity to influence pain management practice from the ground-up.
“We welcome people who feel they have something to share to participate in the workshop and brainstorm ideas. It’s really about harnessing the lived experience of pain and how to manage it, in order to help others. It’s a fabulous opportunity to make a difference,” she said.
The ACI Consumer Day will run from 11am to 2.30pm on 14 November at Chatswood in Sydney. The event is free and will include a light lunch. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!
