National Action Plan advocacy

With the National Strategic Action Plan for Pain Management now launched by Federal Minister for Health, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, Painaustralia has written to thank all the stakeholders that contributed to the consultation for the plan along with the State and Territory governments for their endorsement of the plan.

The announcement by Minister Hunt means Australia is the first country in the world to achieve national adoption of a practical plan to support better pain management.

It is a critical first step towards improving the quality of lives for the millions of Australians who live with chronic pain. Now that chronic pain is on the national agenda, we believe it is imperative to leverage this beginning and work together with members, stakeholders, governments and consumers around Australia to implement the Plan’s actions.
