Dr Manuela Callari

Congratulations to Kathy Eager and the Australian Health Services Research Institute at the University of Wollongong. Kathy and her team have received $8 million to develop an outcome centre for the aged care sector in the wake of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

Painaustralia is delighted to be part of a new research trial developed by Sydney University and funded by the NHMRC Clinical Trials and Cohort Studies Program, IMPLORE: implementing an opioid stewardship intervention to reduce opioid use.  Congratulations to Professor Andrew McLachlan and Dr Christina Abdelshaheed on the successful application. 

We were also pleased to see that Dr Manuela Callari, freelance science and medical writer, won the Australasian Medical Writers Association Early Career Award 2021 for her excellent story on chronic pain and the pandemic published last year in @TheSaturdayPaper. Congratulations and well deserved from us all at Painaustralia
